The Hawksmoor Churches on Google Maps

This project is a learning experience at using Google Maps, prior to using it for a more significant purpose.

The map shows the locations of the six churches in Central and East London designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor, with a suggested walking route linking them. Each leg of this walk has an approximate distance and time taken from www.walkit.com. The walk is around seven and a half miles, and should take two to three hours — though I haven't tried it (yet) and therefore cannot vouch for it. Selecting any of the churches will display a photo.

I would like to express my appreciation to the photographers who made their photos of the churches available through Wikipedia: Steve Cadman (St Anne Limehouse, released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.0 Generic license); Atelier Joly (St Alfege, released under the GNU Free Documentation License); Martin Klussman (St George's Bloomsbury and St George in the East, both released as public domain images); ChrisO (St Mary Woolnoth, released under the GNU Free Documentation License); Dr Michael Reeve (Christ Church, Spitalfields, released under the GNU Free Documentation License).
